Hounslow & Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust (HRCH) is responsible for providing community health service for over 500,000 people living across the London Boroughs of Hounslow and Richmond-Upon-Thames.

Community Healthcare covers most of the services that are provided outside of hospital or GP surgeries. We are passionate about delivering high quality care and provide a range of services for both adults and children including community nursing, health visiting, physiotherapy, nutrition and dietetics, health promotion and stop smoking services, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy. Some of our services such as the Walk-in Centre at Teddington Memorial Hospital and the Hounslow Urgent Care Centre attract patients from nearby boroughs and we also run services further afield such as the LiveWell and stop smoking services in the London boroughs of Sutton and Merton.

We currently have a vacancy for a full-time Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our innovative and well supported team. This is a permanent post and will include working with pre-school and school aged children with Autism and Social Communication Difficulties across a range of settings. The successful applicant will also be involved in the multi-disciplinary Social Communication diagnostic pathway, and will supervise the speech and language therapists working as part of this team.

As well as carrying their own specialist caseload, the successful candidate will lead on the delivery and development of the ASD service for the team, including providing training, supervision and outreach support for other SLT team members. While the focus of the role will be ASD, the successful applicant will also work with children and young people with other additional needs, and support other members of the team with this caseload as well.

Richmond Speech and Language Therapy Service is a well-established, integrated and supportive team which is jointly commissioned by Health and Education. Applicants should be able to demonstrate an ability to work flexibly, and use their initiative to deliver a responsive and quality service. Applications will be considered from candidates who can offer the level of specialism we are looking for, and will need at least 5 years’ experience with this client group. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team is also essential, and experience of service development is highly desirable.

Full time hours preferred, but part-time may be considered for the right applicant
