Job Description

Maintain high standard of cleanliness and clinical cleaning throughout the hospital in line with the housekeeping and infection control policies.
Complete the cleaning schedules related to the shift, ensuring that rooms and public areas are cleaned to a very high standard. To keep in close communication with the Head Housekeeper and Supervisors and report any concerns regarding housekeeping issues immediately. To work in close liaison with the clinical staff understanding the special needs of the hospital on a day to day basis. To be responsible for the day to day maintenance of cleaning equipment provided, checking for faults and supply shortages and reporting them to the line manager. Compliance with all Health and Safety at Work regulations including COSHH. Work with guidance on moving and handling, as identified in corporate and local policy and discussed at Mandatory training sessions.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Experience working unsupervised and on own initiative, prioritising tasks
A positive and flexible approach to customer service
Good communication skills
Able to work as part of a team
Willing and able to complete mandatory training for COSSH, Manual Handling,
Infection Control, food hygiene and Health & Safety in-house.
Previous theatre cleaning experience
NVQ in General Cleaning

The Montefiore Hospital is located on the corner of Davigdor Road and Montefiore Road in Hove, BN3 1RD. Although staff parking is limited the number 7 bus stop is at our front door and we are ideally located between Brighton and Hove train stations. Some offsite car parking will be available.
