Job Description

Providing quality, inspiring innovation and  delivering value is what we set out to achieve at Priory Healthcare. Enabling our patients with mental health difficulties to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment, regardless of complexity or severity, thanks to the knowledge and expertise of our multidisciplinary clinical teams.

Job Advert Location Description

Thornford Park, part of Priory Healthcare, is an independent 133 bedded hospital set in 23 acres of parkland on the outskirts of Newbury, Berkshire - close to the Hampshire borders.

Our top rated forensic hospital provides services for male service users detained under the Mental Health Act (1983), who require care in conditions of medium and low security. We offer long-term treatment and rehabilitation for patients with enduring mental disorders and forensic histories, who present with multiple problems, challenging and high risk behaviours and complex care needs. We also provide care and treatment for adult male service users who are experiencing an acutely disturbed phase of a serious mental disorder, in our newly opened 10 bedded PICU.

Job Advert Role Description

Due to our continued expansion, we are seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our busy team. This role exists to support the Catering department to deliver catering services across the hospital (usually lunch and dinner) and to undertake kitchen porter duties.

The successful candidates will be required to hold a certificate in Basic Food Hygiene, however training will be given. You will also be required to have a basic standard of numeracy and literacy, be able to prioritise work and effectively communicate with staff and service users from a variety of backgrounds.

Benefits of working for us include the equivalent of 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays) plus your birthday as an additional day’s leave, contributory pension scheme, comprehensive induction programme and other fantastic benefits.

If successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure at the enhanced level from the Disclosure & Barring Service.

We are an equal opportunities employer.
