About Provide

We work from a variety of community settings, such as three community hospitals, community clinics, schools, nursing homes and primary care settings, as well as within peoples’ homes to provide over 50 services to children, families and adults.

We provide services across Essex and in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, as well as the two London boroughs of Waltham Forest and Redbridge. We have an income of approximately £54 million, employ over 1,100 people and serve communities with a total population of more than 19 million people.

Provide was formerly the Provider arm of NHS Mid Essex, but became a Community Interest Company with effect from 1st April 2011.

Essex Sexual Health Service provides a range of excellent services for people needing to access contraception, sexual health screening/treatment and related advice and support. As the first point of contact, the Intelligence Centre, and the staff based there are key in ensuring patients accessing the service feel welcomed and are provided with information regarding services available in their area. All appointments are booked and controlled through the intelligence centre ensuring a consistent approach and service across all areas of Essex.

We are looking for someone who is/has-

  • Previous customer care experience.
  • Ability to understand the importance and significance of maintaining client confidentiality in this service.
  • Ability to contribute to team working and to develop good working relationships.
  • Ability to effectively manage team members, support others working and deligate appropriate tasks with the team.
  • Ability to record accurate information.
  • Ability to work with members of the public
  • Ability to work under pressure without direct supervision.
  • Ability to identify and quickly diffuse difficult situations with the public.
  • High level of administrative & organisational skills.
  • An understanding of data management and the ability to communicate with other key staff members within the service to address issues and implement solutions.
  • Effective in managing own time.
  • To be able to follow and work to agreed admin and clinical protocols
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate courteously & effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Listens attentively and speaks clearly and confidently, able to impart accurate health information to clients and assess their level of understanding.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to and skills in customer care.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with all levels of staff.
  • Understands the positive impact of delivering a high quality service and strives to provide this to all clients.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Delivery of health information to individuals and groups
  • No objections to the services provided by the department.
  • Able to travel between operational venues in Essex.
