Learning Disabilities Support Worker - Street

We are looking for professional, dedicated and experienced Learning Disabilities Support Workers who are committed to delivering high quality care to our clients with learning disabilities in the Street area of Somerset.

You will need to have access to your own transportation for this role.

It's essential you are as confident delivering personal care as you are enabling an individual to undertake the activities in life they desire. You should have a mindful approach of protecting the dignity of the individual and promoting their independence at all times. You will be working on either a 1-1 basis or within a small team of Support Workers based in a residential or nursing home. 

A conscientious and dedicated approach to personalised care makes an incredible difference to all service users, which is why we are looking to employ the best people, to develop the best skills.

A BSL certificate or experience in Makaton is preferred for this role, but not essential

We can offer you:

  • Salary up to £14.66/hr, paid weekly

In order to be considered for this Support Worker job you will need the following:

  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • At least 3 months’ previous paid experience working in a support worker role in a learning disability setting in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs
  • NVQ2 / SVQ2 in Health and Social Care highly preferable.
