Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine OR in Acute and Respiratory Medicine.
To cover maternity leave
BSUH are looking for a locum consultant to cover acute medicine +/- respiratory medicine from November 2016 for twelve months.
This 10 PA post (8DCC and 2 SPA) is open to acute physicians (the respiratory component of the post to be covered internally) and respiratory physicians (to work 4 PAs acute medicine and 4 PAs respiratory medicine). Any GIM registered physician is also welcome to apply on the understanding that their role will be limited to that of an acute physician.
Final year SpRs in either Acute Medicine or Respiratory medicine who wish to ‘act up’ are encouraged to apply, but must have the specialty exit exam and be within 3 months of their CCT date.
The post holder will be part of the acute medical team that provides a consultant led on call service at RSCH 6 days a week and at PRH 5 days a week as well as care to the AMU inpatients at RSCH 7 days a week.
If the applicant is a Respiratory Physician they would be expected to cover 2 respiratory clinics, a share of ‘respiratory physician of the week’, respiratory ward cover and a share of the bronchoscopy lists
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly on both sites when required.
The post holder will be expected to provide out of hours cover at the RSCH site
The post holder will be joining a team of 11 acute physicians (645 WTE) and 6 Respiratory physicians.
