These are 10 PA locum appointments for Consultant Anaesthetists. These posts will be offered with a six month contract and are to commence as soon as possible.

These posts will deliver 10PAs supporting the anaesthetic team at the Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s University Hospital at Leeds.

The successful applicants should hold accreditation in the FRCA in the Royal College of Anaesthetics or equivalent, and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK, or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical Director and Clinical Director.

Applicants should have established skills in anaesthesia. Excellent communication and team working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential.

If you are successful in being offered a position which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The level of check required is dependent upon the position that you have applied for. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment and will need to be renewed annually. Note for Band 1 roles the Trust will pay for the cost of the DBS checks and will refund to you the cost of the update service.
