LOCUM CONSULTANT IN OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY (10 pa’s)
Applications are invited for the post of a Locum Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology commencing December 2016. The post is a temporary position initially for a period up to 6 months, subject to review. During this time it is hoped that a substantive post will be advertised.
The post will enable us to maintain an adequate level of gynaecology activity against
the background of a need for consultant cover of the labour ward. The successful
applicant will be expected to work as resident and non-resident on call.
The post holder will be expected to be actively involved with teaching. The post will be based at the Women's and Children's Hospital, Hull Royal Infirmary in addition there will be an expectation to provide services across both main hospital sites as required. The post holder may also be required to contribute to the Termination of Pregnancy service if they do not have a conscientious objection.
The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute services from two hospital sites. We serve a local population of approximately 800,000 with some services aimed at an extended catchment area of 12 million people. The trust now forms part of the Hull York Medical School with both the NHS sites and Universities of Hull and York. With an annual budget of £481 million and employing around 7000 staff we are committed to the continuous development of services for the benefit of patients and to providing a comprehensive service of the highest possible quality.
