Job Description

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit has commenced and is due to be completed 2017, and plans to extend the neonatal unit are underway.

We provide high quality, friendly and effective community health services from multiple sites covering Walsall. Our multidisciplinary services include rapid response and homebased care, so that those with long term conditions and the frail elderly can remain in their own homes.

LOCUM CONSULTANT GENERAL PHYSICIAN

We are looking to appoint a Locum Consultant General Pysician to commence as soon as possible to to work on the General Medical Wards 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. The post is for 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week. The successful candidate will committed to delivering a high quality of care to our local population.

The main duties of the post will include General Internal Medicine and would be ward based; there are no general medical on call commitments and the successful candidate will be encouraged to develop a subspecialty interest to complement the interest of other colleagues.

Walsall is a vibrant town within commutable distance from Birmingham and other surrounding towns. There are excellent selective, comprehensive and private schools and recreational facilities in the area.

The successful candidate must: possess full GMC registration with a Licence to Practice; a basic medical degree (eg MBBS or equivalent); Full MRCP (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate relevant experience and training to undertake this post.
