LOCUM CONSULTANT IN RADIOLOGY x2 Posts
Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint x2 Locum Consultants to work with a committed team in our Radiology Department. This post offers the chance to be part of a modern Department within a dynamic and progressive Trust and is a 6 month fixed term appointment.
We are looking for someone who has thorough general specialty experience Applicants must have relevant specialty clinical experience and competencies and be able to operate at the level of Consultant grade. Consultant level NHS experience is preferable although not essential. This post may suit a Specialty Doctor looking to take up the next step in their career or an overseas doctor looking to obtain consultant experience in the NHS.
A strong commitment from the appointee to the Department and involvement with activities within the Department such as audit, appraisal and assessment, clinical governance and development of guidelines is expected. The successful applicant will be expected to work as part of a team of consultants and will be required to contribute to the ongoing development of the Radiology Department Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
It is essential that applicants hold an MBBS qualification or equivalent and FRCR or an equivalent higher qualification and applicants must be in possession of full or Specialist GMC Registration and hold a licence to practice.
This post is for 10 programmed activities. We have a Tele-radiology facility for on-call with the introduction of PACS. The duties will be 1 in 9 with prospective cover.
Consultant Radiologist on-call is outsourced and covers evenings and nights seven days per week. Burton Consultant Radiologists will cover all referrals both urgent and routine Monday to Friday 0830 to 1900 and Saturday and Sunday 0900 to 1700.
Appointment to this post is subject to the provisions of the Terms and Conditions of the New Consultant Contract (2003). Further conditions have been implemented by the Trust that have been negotiated with the Medical and Dental Local Negotiating Committee. The national salary scale will apply.
