Manager/Clinical Counsellor/Psychotherapist – Disability & Health Counselling Service & Asian Counselling Service (Band 8A), Tower Hamlets

Full time 375 hours, Permanent

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Manager who would also be expected to carry a clinical case load; we are seeking a Clinical Counsellor/Psychotherapist, with an interest in working in Primary Care. This is to join a dynamic and innovative Disability & Health Counselling (DHCS) & to manage our new contract called The Asian Counselling service (ACS). This post involves both the management and supervision of DHCS & ACS services.

We are looking for a BACP/UKCP accredited Clinical Counsellor/Psychotherapist with at least 3 years clinical experience of working with people with Long Term Health conditions and Disabilities. The post holder should also be a BACP accredited supervisor, have proven management experience as well as experience of entering and analyzing data.

Compass Wellbeing Community Interest Company is a Social Enterprise based in East London. Formerly the Tower Hamlets Primary Care Psychology and Counselling Service, we have provided psychological therapy services to General Practice and the local community for over 30 years. We are a Stepped Care service offering evidence-based interventions at Steps 2, 3 and 4. Our team consists of Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, Counsellors and an IAPT team of High-Intensity CBT therapists and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners. We have a number of other aspects to the service, including a Disability and Health Counselling Service, a Perinatal Psychology Service & Systemic Service, an Asian Counselling Service, and we have recently launched 3 Enhanced Primary Care psychological services – an Eating Disorders Project, a Chronic Depression Project and a Stable Psychosis Service. As a service, we actively encourage different theoretical interests – we were, for instance, the pilot clinical site for Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) and we were one of 2 clinical sites for the on-going DIT RCT (REDIT).

The post holder will be part of a supportive team, with access to peer support, high quality supervision and CPD opportunities.
