Matron / Infection Control Lead

This post offers an exciting and challenging opportunity for the right person with experience to work closely with the Director of Nursing & Midwifery and Director of Infection Prevention and Control, to manage the delivery of the Trust wide, infection prevention and control annual plan.

The post holder will be highly visible in clinical areas Trust wide and will undertake a leading role in the Saving Lives Strategy assisting in the collection and analysis of the Prevention and Control of Infection data, enabling the service to plan, monitor and achieve its objectives and contribute to successful implementation of the Infection Control strategy, supporting and managing the Infection Control Nurses in the process of feedback of surveillance results and recommendations to clinicians and clinical teams.

Applicants must be a nurse registered with the NMC with a minimum of 3 years experience in a senior position in an NHS Trust, be educated to MSc level or be willing to undertake this. Evidence of understanding of the NHS policy agenda and drivers for improving inpatient care within Infection Prevention and Control and can provide evidence of continuous professional development.

Hours: 375 per week over 5 days Salary: £40,028 - £48,034 per annum
