Medical Records Clerk

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our Medical Records team.  You will be required to work on your own initiative, work to strict deadlines, be accurate in your work and have logical reasoning with a methodical working practice. Some of the work will be moving and lifting boxes on a daily basis.
You will need to have good communication skills and be able to work well with other departments. In addition you will have to be able to multi task when needed and be flexible.
Responsibilities will mainly include the archiving of patient records in accordance with legislation but will also include:
•Ensuring that all medical records are collated correctly and filed accurately
•Fulfilling requests for the retrieval and delivery of records
•Maintaining an effective tracking system for medical records

Applicants should be experienced in using IT and numerical/alphabetical systems and will ideally have worked in a busy team environment.  You will need to have a minimum of GCSE standard English and Maths and be able to produce clear and legible documentation. Confidentiality is a key requirement of this post.
This is a part-time position (25 hrs per week). Working hours are 3.00pm to 8.00pm or 4.00pm - 9.00pm, Monday to Friday.
