Job Description

NHS Professionals in conjunction with Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust are seeking dedicated ,flexible Mental Health Care Support Workers.

NHS Professionals is the leading provider of managed flexible workforce services to the NHS with approximately 60,000 nurses, doctors, administration and clerical and other healthcare professionals signed to its bank. We help our 60 NHS Trust clients implement tactical measures to improve workforce efficiency and productivity as part of an overall workforce strategy.

The post holder will;


• Ensure that care is assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated on an individual basis, taking into account the needs of the patient and their family


• Is able to communicate in demanding and sometimes challenging situations, seeking out support when required


• Demonstrate knowledge and skills specific to the diverse care required by the critically ill patient utilising the foundation course competency programme.

Person Requirements

Minimum of 3 months experience gained in the last 2 years as a permanent, Agency or Bank Care Support Worker/Health Care Assistant in Mental Health obtained at any of the following:

  • NHS Hospital
  • Mental Health Care home
  • UK Private Hospital
  • UK Prison
  • NHS or UK Private Mental Health Community Setting

or

Currently Studying Mental Health Nursing (Student Nurse) and completed a minimum of 12 weeks clinical placement.

Eligibility

All CSWs are only eligible for the role if they meet care certificate criteria and must have proof of one of the following;

  • Currently studying as a student Nurse
  • Have completed Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ or apprenticeship Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Have a care Certificate from another NHS Organisation
