Ramsey Unit is a 15 bedded purpose built, Dementia Assessment Unit for Older Adults based at Dane Garth, Furness General Hospital.
We are looking for Registered Mental Health and Registered General Nurses to be part of our Inpatient Dementia Assessment team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills in person centered holistic care, the post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, being able to communicate effectively with both patients and staff is essential as you will be responsible for providing information and support to relatives/carers and co-ordinate links into other services. You are required to provide a safe therapeutic environment that promotes the individual’s daily living skills and maintains the individual’s independence as long as possible.
This job also entails taking responsibility for the day to day management of the ward as required in support of the ward manager and Clinical Manager including teaching, supervision of junior staff/students. This will also include managing a team within the named nurse model and all aspects regarding assessment of physical health and the delivery of evidence based care.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a future development within Memory Matters and Later Life services. We aim to inspire and empower staff through person centered leadership to undergo significant change within a clinical environment to develop a “Nurse Led unit” (principally managed and run by nurses) with a very strong confident motivated team.
The position requires shift work, including occasional nights, on a rotational basis
