This is a rare opportunity to work within a sought after urgent care environment. The unit is practitioner-led with no on-site medical support and is committed to delivering high quality care to the local population. The MIU operates from  ( Phone number removed )  and sees approximately 12,000 patients a year. There is a marked increase in attendance during the holiday period. During the out of hours’ period the unit offers a minor illness service also.

We are interested in interviewing a range of candidates:

  • Aspiring practitioners with an urgent care background who would like to develop further (Band 5 development post)
  • Practitioners who already hold a suitable qualification (Band 5 post) and wish to obtain further experience and education leading to a Band 6 post
  • Practitioners able to work in an advanced practice role which includes minor illness and paediatrics (Band 6 post)

You need to have a passion for minor injury care, good communication skills, and a commitment to providing excellent care as part of the MIU team. You must be responsive to change and flexible in your approach. A sound knowledge of professional issues will be required along with the ability to study at degree level.
