MRI Radiographer

Job Description

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides services through its three hospitals in Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester. We provide all general hospital services for planned and emergency care as well as specialist services. These include Pseudomyxoma Peritonei for which we are one of the only two national centres treating this rare abdominal cancer. The Trust also provides services at the Countess of Brecknock Hospice in Andover and outpatient services are provided in Alton, Bordon and Romsey.

The Trust employs around 5,000 staff and our values apply to every member of our Team. These values are centred around caring about our patients and our staff; being accountable and responsible; having respect for all and integrity in everything we do and always encouraging and challenging each other to do our best. To be successful, applicants will need to demonstrate that they fully share these values.

If you have the ambition, intrinsic motivation and dedication to participate in innovative changes in a department about to implement evidenced based career progression up to Consultant Practitioner level, then this is the ideal opportunity for you. We are recruiting an experienced MRI radiographer with the opportunity to train in cardiac MRI. You will join our friendly, highly motivated and supportive team and be predominantly based within the MRI unit at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.

Our Radiology service is expanding which has provided opportunity for career progression and advanced practice. Current initiatives within radiology include the planned implementation of a career progression pathway that supports staff to advance through the stages from band 5 to band 8 in response to service demand. Training is available and career development opportunities for both clinical and leadership roles will be supported via a mentorship pathway.

HHFT has achieved a number of commendations in relation to patient care and access:
• Some of the lowest infection rates in England.
• Praised for cleanliness of hospital Inpatients Survey.
• Modern exemplar cardiac service with 24 hour primary angioplasty offered.
• Modern exemplar stroke service offering emergency thrombolysis (clot busting drug).
• Leading-edge treatments for urology patients including bluelight laser for bladder cancer.
• Pioneering intraoperative radiotherapy treatment for breast cancer

HHFT supports specialist services for rare or complex illnesses for patients across the UK, including liver cancer, colorectal cancer and pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare lower abdominal cancer). HHFT has been awarded a CQC rating of ‘good’ overall and ‘outstanding’ for care as a Trust. With the expansion of radiology services over the next few years, this is an ideal opportunity to expand your portfolio in an innovative and motivated service.
