NEWLY QUALIFIED NURSING OPPORTUNITIES, AT OUR MULTI SITE SERVICES, BASED IN CASTLEFORD, West Yorkshire.
This is a great opportunity for you to have experience in varying disciplines of nursing, modern working facility sites, with all the support you will need.
If you are a newly qualified nurse and looking for your first position, then Fairburn Vale may offer you the opportunity that you're looking for. It's a lovely home which has 20 beds, specifically for younger adults with complex physical needs including treacheostomy care and neurological disorders.
We offer a preceptorship programme which allows you to develop your skills and confidence and apply the knowledge that you have gained from your studies and placements to the working environment.
Until you become fully competent, you will be working supernumerary and will be supervised by your dedicated mentor, who will give you all the tools, support and guidance that you need to reach the required level of competence and complete your preceptorship
Typically, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing care needs
- Delivering hands-on nursing care
- Developing, implementing and evaluating care programmes
- Communicating with service users, relatives, visitors and other professionals
- Supervising team members to ensure that the shift runs smoothly and efficiently
- Administering, reviewing and monitoring medication
- Positive promoting the reputation of the home
- Complying with all legal and regulatory policies and procedures
- Promoting choice, independence, dignity and respect
- Adhering to the NMC Code and updating your professional knowledge
The preceptorship training is in addition to our standard induction programme, which lasts for 7 days, and provides you with all the knowledge that you'll need to understand our ethos and vision, and to deliver the highest quality of nursing care to our service users.

Exemplar started life as a training company, helping a care home operator get to grips with an ever-increasing regulatory burden. We helped co-ordinate nursing adaptation courses for overseas nurses too.
