Hywel Dda University Health Board is currently looking for motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious student RSCN/Children’s Nurses who are due to qualify in September 2017 to join our Acute Paediatric Nursing Service.

Glangwili General Hospital
Cilgerran Ward provides inpatient children’s service for scheduled and unscheduled care of children and young people. A Paediatric Assessment Unit and a designated three bedded High Dependency Unit providing patient centred care at Level 1, with strong links with the Paediatric Intensive Care unit at Cardiff.

Bronglais General Hospital
Angharad Ward provide local services for the children, including six inpatient children’s beds, one high dependency bed and a four bedded Paediatric Ambulatory Care Unit, as well as Oncology care, child and adolescent mental health services.

Withybush General Hospital
The 12 bedded Paediatric Ambulatory Care Unit provides rapid assessment and treatment of children and young people in a dedicated paediatric area. This incorporates both the rapid assessment and stabilisation of all general paediatric emergency admissions (8 beds) plus medical and surgical/orthopaedic day cases (4 beds).

The work is varied and offers opportunities to develop a broad range of specialised skills working within multi-disciplinary and multi-agency partnerships. We provide an excellent service to meet the needs of children and families incorporating Family Centred Care. Our nursing team offers a progressive and supportive environment to develop individuals by utilising in-house and network resources.

We have a strong commitment to education and training within the service. A caring attitude is essential with good written and oral skills. You must be able to manage your time effectively.


You will need a flexible approach to work as these posts are rotational; day and night shifts. The ability to speak Welsh would be an advantage, but this is not essential.
