Search Consultancy is looking to recruit a Registered General Nurse on behalf of small sized nursing home in Accrington in the Lancashire area..
The Home offers 24 hours residential and nursing care with a registered nurse on duty and assistance from healthcare professionals. The Home is meeting all CQC national standards at an overall good rating after the recent inspection in June 2016.They are on the look out for dedicated nurses to maintain their respected status in the area and with the local council.
The Home uses the latest technologies to facilitate the resident's needs as well as ensuring maximum comfort and physical capabilities. The features and services available include a beautiful conservatory, TV lounge, Bingo, Gardening, Afternoon Tea and a range of activities.
The Home provides general nursing, palliative and residential care for elderly residents with Dementia and Physical disabilities. They specialise in care for people needing support with complex needs such as cancer care, multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy. Night nurses on duty will be the only registered nurse on nights and will be expected to be familiar with these conditions and the care provided.
Night Nurses will be expected to:
- Manage shift - As only RGN on shift
- Be the nurse in charge, with the support of 3 highly trained carers
- Be accountable for the running of the night
- Liaise with the management and the day team via handovers
- Clinical skills such as peg feeds, medication rounds, tracheostomies, catheterisation
- Supervise highly trained carers
- Medication rounds
This is a full time permanent position on night shifts. On night shifts, you have the option work 33 hours one week and 44 hours the other week. This will work out as 3 long nights or 4 long nights, totalling to a 38.5 hour contract. The shift patterns operate between the hours of 8pm - 8am, with a 15 minute paid handover from the day staff. The role involves working alternative weekends and offers a 1 hour lunch break.
The role offers a competitive hourly rate of £15.00 per hour. The annual salary is £34,320.
The company also offer enhancements for overtime hours and a 1 hours lunchtime.

Night Nurses must have:
- A professional nursing qualification - Registered General Nurse
- A valid NMC pin number
- Experience in a nursing home with elderly and dementia residents.
