An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Neonatal Unit for motivated and enthusiastic nurses to join our dynamic forward thinking neonatal team as a Band 5 neonatal staff nurse. Newly qualified nurses are welcome to apply, as are experienced adult nurses with appropriate transferable skills.
The neonatal unit cares for premature and newborn infants with both medical and surgical problems. Applications are very welcome from staff nurses wishing to gain experience in the care of these babies, with the expectation that they will undertake the training to become Qualified in Specialty (QIS). There is a competency based program to support orientation and ongoing learning.
As a staff member you will also have the opportunity to influence the design and equipping of the neonatal area within the new Baird Family Hospital (planned completion 2020). This new area will incorporate modern, spacious and flexible special care, high dependency and intensive care nurseries, as well as a pioneering transitional care unit, the only one in Scotland.
