Registered Nurse, elderly care - 25 to 40 hours per week £33,000 per annum (pro rata to hours)

Our client, a care home base din West Yorkshire and requiring slight improvement on its current CQC report, is looking for dedicated nurses to take it to the highest standards possible. You will have:
•A valid NMC pin number
•1-2 years elderly care experience

•Flexible shift patterns available from 25 to 40 hours a week @ £16 per hour
Main purpose of Job: To manage the Unit on a day to day or shift basis. To plan, establish, communicate and monitor a high standard of Resident Care demonstrating concern of excellence within the Home. Assist the Unit Manager, Registered Manager and Deputy Nurse Manager to enable the Home and units to improve their performance where possible.
To develop a centre of nursing excellence for the Residents, whilst always adhering to the NMC Code of conduct and promoting our Core Values.
•Maintain clear and effective communication when on shift. Give clear lucid reports on all Residents at shift hand overs to oncoming staff.
•Inform Registered Manager/Deputy Manager/Unit Manager if any problems with Resident care, staff problems, complaints.
•To foster excellent working relationship with all Residents and their relatives and visitors.
•To have a good working relationship with GP's, Social Workers, Multidisciplinary Team and all external professionals.
•Manage the unit on a day-to-day basis by organizing and evaluating work practices. Supervise the work of the Health Care Workers ensuring their duties are in accordance with care plans, the Homes "Standards and Procedures" and health and safety legislation.
•Demonstrate good leadership qualities, effective management and communication at all times. Maintain good staff relationships promoting high morale.
•Work at all times to promote person centred care, ensuring all resident's right to privacy, freedom of choice, dignity and independence. Encouraging the involvement of families where possible.
•Ability to carry out nursing procedures and treatment safely. To keep up to date with new procedures and products i.e. wound dressings, catheterisation etc.
Ensure your work complies with Home procedures and fulfils requirements of NMC conduct, NICE guidelines, The Health Authority and Social Services, Health and Safety Executive and Environmental Health requirements.
•Adhere to the Homes handling of medication policy. Order, receive, destroy and account for drugs entering and leaving the Home.
•All documentation related to drugs ordering, receipt, storage and destruction is maintained.
