An exciting opportunity has arisen at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust for a part time Band 6 experienced registered nurse to expand our existing specialist nutrition nursing service within the acute setting. The successful candidate will be based within the Dietetic team.
The post is for a specialist autonomous nurse responsible for supporting the provision of a comprehensive nursing support service for patients with complex enteral nutritional challenges and patients requiring parenteral nutrition.
Along with the lead nutritional specialist nurse, you will act as a point of contact for patients who have a need to access the specialist service; undertake a range of duties to ensure the effective delivery of care including procedures, specialist advice and ongoing support to their client group. You will also co-ordinate the nutritional care of patients in hospital, between hospitals; and facilitate successful transfer between acute and community settings.
The successful candidate will provide ongoing specialist advice, education and training in enteral and parenteral feeding, to raise standards and develop the practice of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), along with the lead nutritional specialist nurse. The post holder will also undertake research and audit within own specialist area.

This position would suit an innovative, self motivated person who has experience of caring for patients receiving enteral and parenteral nutrition and is looking to develop their career in this specialist field. You will need to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, and to work flexibly in line with service modernisation.
