Due to a member of our team receiving a secondment/fixed term opportunity, we have an opportunity for a static Band 5 Occupational therapist to join the Elderly Medicine Therapy team for 12 months.
The successful applicant will carry a full clinical caseload and will offer improved stability at rotation time. The post holder will have opportunity to take on additional responsibility in the teaching and support of more junior staff. The role will also offer the chance to be more involved in service development within the team.
The successful candidate will play an integral role working alongside Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists (PT) on the Elderly Medicine wards in order to support the timely assessment, progression and discharge of individual patients who are referred to the service.
Applicants must have demonstrable postgraduate experience which must include at least one inpatient rotation. You will also need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and an understanding of and ability to work within a transfer to assess model of care.
We are a friendly, supportive team who can offer:
• Support from Clinical Team Leader, Band 7 Elderly lead Occupational Therapist and other qualified therapists within the team
• PT/OT working in a close knit team
• Regular Elderly Medicine Therapy team in-service training
• Education and support to obtain and maintain moving and handling and equipment competencies
• Support to attend appropriate training courses
• Trust commitment to CPD, annual appraisals and regular supervision
