Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our therapy team. We are a 22 bedded Intermediate Care rehabilitation unit, based at Langley House Intermediate Care Unit in Watford. We provide in-patient rehabilitation to patients admitted from the acute hospitals, supporting discharge from hospital and maximising independence.

We are looking for a qualified band 6 Occupational Therapist who has previous experience within an inpatient rehab setting. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with the assessment and treatment skills needed for a variety of conditions including orthopaedics, neurology and amputees. Providing excellent clinical reasoning skills and giving expert advice, guidance and information to patients, health and social care professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professional, to facilitate safe and timely discharges.

The post would also involve duties as a member of the senior team within in the unit, including supervising other members of staff, participating in service development and audit. CPD is encouraged and we provide excellent support through in-service training, mandatory training and clinical supervision.

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £961 and a maximum payment of £1,665 per annum (pro rata where applicable).

A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
