As a result of new investment an exciting opportunity has arisen to expand our current Stroke Service. We are looking for a part time Band 6 Occupational Therapist to be part of an established Stroke Team to assist with the development of the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU). The team provides specialist stroke rehabilitation across the stroke pathway which includes hyper acute, acute care and rehabilitation. The post holders will work in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team to provide person centred stroke care.

Band 6 Occupational Therapist

Permanent Part-time: 225 hours a week across 7 days

We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to work in Aintree Stroke Centre to assist the development of the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU).

You will have excellent skills in the assessment and treatment of Stroke patients along the Stroke pathway. This will include acute care, in-patient rehabilitation and complex discharge planning. You will have experience of managing staff, educating students and excellent leadership qualities.

Previous experience working on a Stroke Unit would be advantageous.

You must be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team. Excellent communication, interpersonal and team working skills will be required. You should be motivated towards service development and improvement and keen to learn new skills.

You will receive regular support and supervision from experienced senior staff.
Aintree is a teaching hospital and there is a strong commitment to continuing professional development supported by the Trust’s COMPASS appraisal system.

You will need to work flexibly across 7 days as the 7 day service continues to develop.
