Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust is a Regional Teaching Hospital, providing general acute services to Brighton & Hove and Mid Sussex, and tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the South East of England.
The Sussex Vascular Network, with its Hub at Brighton, has provided funding for a senior Occupational Therapist to join the MDT at The Royal Sussex County Hospital and work alongside Surgeons, Nurses and a Specialist physiotherapist to provide acute rehabilitation to patients post vascular surgery including amputation. The Team works closely with community Health and Social Care services, to ensure rapid discharge, and Sussex Rehab Service based at BGH to facilitate seamless management of amputees into their prosthetic stage of recovery.
Do you have leadership qualities, effective communication skills, a flexible approach and an ability to work under pressure, both as part of a team and independently? Can you demonstrate up to date clinical knowledge and treatment skills in an acute setting? Have you worked in Community and are keen to develop highly specialist skills within the field of vascular medicine? If so, then come and join us.
Although previous experience in vascular settings and wheelchair prescription is desirable, including experience supervising junior members of staff, your CPD will be supported both within the MDT/ Network and within the OT department, as part of the wider Surgical Team Structure which is led by a Band 7 OT.
