Band 6 Occupational Therapist

We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our small interprofessional Therapy in Reach team providing a rehabilitation service to community inpatients within Ronald Gibson House.
The team works closely together to provide goal-orientated, client centred, rehabilitation for patients transferred from local acute hospitals with some admitted directly from our community hospital acute admission pathway.

The Therapy in Reach beds within Ronald Gibson House are for patients who are medically fit and require rehabilitation. Patients have a range of complex conditions associated with older age including falls, neurological conditions, post op rehabilitation, fractures and other medical problems. You will be providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention undertaking individual sessions, group work and home visits aiming to maximise their independence and discharge home.

The Therapy in Reach team consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Rehab Assistants, a Patient Flow Co ordinator and GP. The team works closely together with colleagues from acute and community teams as well as our partner organisation Brendoncare.

You will be part of a strong professional Occupational Therapy structure working/ liaising with colleagues across different community settings.

You will be clinically supported by a Band 7 Occupational Therapist working in Queen Mary’s Hospital and the Clinical Team Leader for Therapy in Reach & St Johns Day Hospital. You will link with the inpatient team for learning and development opportunities.
You will also be part of the Community Services band 6 peer support group.

There is a strong emphasis on personal development and opportunities for learning are actively supported.
