Our Trust provides mental health, learning disability and children and family services across South Staffordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. We have over 350 inpatient beds and a broad range of community services such as crisis resolution and home treatment, early intervention and memory services.
Specialist mother and baby, eating disorder and medium secure forensic mental health services care for patients from across the region and we have contracts across the country for IAPT, addiction and some health services in prisons as well as hosting a network for inpatient mental health care for serving military personnel.

We are looking to recruit an HPC registered Band 6 Occupational Therapist to the Tamworth Community Mental Health Team. Successful candidates will work alongside the existing band 5 Occupational Therapist and Peer recovery Workers to deliver a recovery focussed occupational therapy service. The post holder will work closely with other disciplines in the team to deliver holistic recovery plans. This involves being care co-ordinator and therefore managing and balancing both generic and OT specific work.
We are looking for someone who has experience, relevant knowledge and a passion to be working with mental health service users. The post holder needs to be able to demonstrate drive and motivation in providing Occupational Therapy services with a mental health service user group. There will be an expectation that the post holder will hold a caseload of service users for whom they care co-coordinate. The post holder would have the opportunity to use their skills to contribute to the development of services, develop themselves personally and professionally in order to provide an evidenced based Occupational Therapy service.
You will have the opportunity to work as a member of the multi disciplinary team which includes other allied health professionals, nursing, medics and psychology. The service offers peer support, professional development, training, KSF personal development reviews (including preceptorship) and supervision, both clinical and managerial. The post holder will take on the role of facilitator for the peer recovery workers within the team, delivering supervision, appraisals and managing their caseloads.
You will be expected to be flexible within your working approach and delivery, to include 8am to 8pm working where necessary, in response to service user needs and be willing to lead clinical audits. You will be required to have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Your role will involve working closely with other agencies, carers, service users, families, the local community and Community Mental Health Teams, ensuring continuity of service is provided at a high level.
