Farmfield Hospital is a purpose built, 52 bedded medium and low secure hospital situated near Gatwick Airport and treats patients with severe and enduring mental disorders with forensic histories.
We are currently looking for an active Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Occupational Therapy Team. You will be responsible for supporting qualified Occupational Therapy staff as part of the care and therapy planning process.
You will take an active role in preparation, planning and delivery of group and one-to-one male occupational, therapeutic and recreational activities including football, gardening, DIY and snooker. The post holder will have core life skills to assist them in this role and have general interest in male based community work.
You will be motivated and enthusiastic, have excellent communication and organisational skills, and integrate with the multi-disciplinary team, which include nurses, doctors, psychologists and other therapists. Experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Due to the nature of this post, a full driving licence will be desirable as you may be required to drive the hospital vehicle for therapeutic activities. This role will require you to work weekends.
