We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Ophthalmology Scrub Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team.

We offer day case and in-patient surgery across the following areas: dental surgery, ear, nose and throat procedures, endoscopy, general surgery, gynaecology, minor orthopaedic surgery, diagnostic imaging, pain management, ophthalmology, and urology.
In addition, we also provide diagnostic services, using the latest X-ray and ultrasound technology.
As an Ophthalmology Scrub Practitioner, you will contribute to the general management of the unit in support of the Theatre Manager. You will support the management of the ophthalmic specialty team to include equipment, instrumentation and standards within the specialty. You will be epxcte to act as scrub nurse for other specialties as required.
You will be involved in the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and teach those skills to other members of the multi-disciplinary team
In addition, you will coordinate where appropriate, the activity of other disciplines to meet the care needs of patients. You will maintain a safe working environment for staff and patients in the operating theatre suite
To be successful in this role you will have:
• Ophthalmology training and substantial ophthalmology experience in the operating environment
• Experience of effectively managing a team
Desitable but not essential:
• Advanced Scrub Practitioner qualification
• NMC Registered General Nurse Level 1 or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner
• Teaching/ mentoring qualification
• Specialist theatre training e.g. ENB 183/176 or equivalent
• Degree or equivalent qualification
• Specialist qualification in ophthalmology
