We require an experienced, flexible and motivated Orthoptist to join our team of 7 Orthoptists and 8 Consultant Ophthalmologists. The post will be based at University Hospital of North Durham with single-handed sessions undertaken in the community and potentially at other sites within the Trust.
Duties include mixed adult and paediatric new patient clinics in conjunction with an Ophthalmologist, general Orthoptic clinics, support to neurology and maxillo-facial departments. Responsibilities include undertaking and organising secondary vision screening within both urban and rural locations.
Opportunities exist to participate in the clinical teaching of Orthoptic students, health professionals and pre-registration optometrists. CPD time will be allocated.
Durham is a city in the North East of England with excellent transport links due to its close proximity to the A1 and is located on the East Coast mainline. It has easy access to the cities of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and York
