An exciting opportunity has arisen in our team for an OT with children’s social services OT experience. This is a one year fixed term contract for adoption leave cover. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced OT to join our well established and innovative Children’s OT service that combines the traditional roles of both health and social services children’s OTs. We have recently relocated to a modern purpose built Children’s Development Centre promoting MDT working and shared working spaces.
With your skills in specialist children’s equipment, housing and adaptations, this is your opportunity to develop your neuro-developmental, therapeutic handling, postural management and schools input skills to offer holistic OT input to the children on your caseload. The post will provide OT services to children with a wide range of disabilities. OT services will include the full range of OT input required by the children on your caseload in their homes, nurseries, schools and respite placements within Croydon. This post will also provide consultative input to other team members needing assistance with specialist equipment, housing and adaptation needs.
Along with clinical work the post holder will also supervise more junior members of the team and OT students on placements and assist with service developments. Regular supervision and support will be provided.
We are a dynamic, friendly and supportive team of OTs, OT Technical Instructors and Administrators who have a wide range of skills and expertise. The service has a good reputation and we work closely with colleagues across children’s services in Health, Education, Social Services and the voluntary sector.
Our integrated health and social services OT team provides you with an excellent opportunity to broaden your skills and provide a comprehensive OT service to the children of Croydon, their parents/carers and other professionals.
- A Diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy
- State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Experience working with children with disabilities in a community social services OT setting
- A valid UK driving licence
