Palliative Care Staff Nurse

Job Description

Should you require further information regarding this vacancy please contact the organisation direct.

We are looking for permanent Palliative Care staff nurses to join our team. This unique role, is unlike any role that you will find in the NHS. It is about caring- caring for individual adult hospice patients and their carers and families. Our patients have life limiting conditions that may be with us for symptom control, terminal end of life care or respite care.

You will play a very important role in their good days, difficult days and last days.

We are looking for compassionate, sensitive nurses who combine excellent clinical skills and risk management with a desire to provide quality basic nursing care and well developed communication skills.

Palliative care experience would be an advantage but is not essential. Ideally at least 18 months experience post qualification and a genuine interest in palliative care is required.

This is an exciting time for Woking and Sam Beare Hospices as we move towards opening our new purpose built 20 bedded Hospice in Goldsworth Park, Woking in 2017.

Employment is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Benefits include 27 days Annual Holiday rising to 30 days on length of service, NHS Pension scheme is available, Occupational Health and Wellbeing, consistant Learning and Development Programme through our Practice Development Teams and Clinical Supervision. Other benefits include free car parking, complementary therapy and staff counselling. We have a benefits web site with many discounted rates and childcare vouchers are available.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship (formerly a Work Permit)

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

UK Registration

Applicants must have current UK professional registration. For further information please see applying from overseas.
