Parenting Team Leader– Stockport Family Service

Permanent post Band 7 (10 or 08WTE)

The Stockport Family Integrated Service provides universal and targeted health, early intervention and children’s social care service using restorative approaches with families.

The aim of the new Stockport Family Service is to work collaboratively across professional disciplines in order to improve outcomes for children and families. The management structure reflects a wholly integrated way of working across health, children’s social care and early help teams in localities.

The Parenting Team is a small team based at Central House, Stockport that works with a much wider number of practitioners across the service to deliver Incredible Years Parenting Courses and a clinic based one to one parenting support service.

The Parenting Team Leader will

  • Line manage parenting practitioners and coordinate a comprehensive programme of parenting courses across the borough
  • Maintain a small clinical caseload, deliver parenting courses and training to staff teams
  • Provide clinical expertise and supervision to develop practice, with individuals and teams
  • Work closely with Team Leaders, Children Centre Coordinators, Healthy Young Minds, the Infant Parent Service and other integrated Stockport Family service teams to provide an effective, high quality service for children and families.
