Practice Nurse - Camden, salary £29,000-£35,000 (pro-rata), part -time, 16 hours per week depends on experience.
We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our team at Belsize Priory Medical Centre based in West Camden serving an ethnic diverse population of approximately 4,300 patients. We are a single handed practice using EMIS Web and DOCMAN software. We regularly achieve good score in QOF and are CQC compliant. We place emphasis on good working relationships and the contribution of all staff members to patient care. The practice believes in providing the right opportunities for developing roles and skills of its staff.
As a Practice Nurse you will assist in the delivery of nursing care to patients attending the Medical Centre. The role requires you to function autonomously and within your sphere of competency, whilst being a support and resource to less experienced members of staff. You must be able to assess patients, carry out relevant tests, and arrange follow-up whilst offering advice and information. You must be able to demonstrate critical thinking skills in clinical decision making.
Essential skills for the post includes Chronic diseases managements, Deliver high standards in all Local and National Enhanced Services, phlebotomy, lifestyle advice, dressing/wound care, infection control, Childhood immunisations and cervical screening, as well as computer literacy.
The Medical Centre is a clinical facility which requires in individual to have the ability to work effectively as part of a multi professional team within a fast pace environment, in line with the protocols and policies of the practice.
The Partner and Practice Manager
•Prioritise patient care and manage own workload effectively.
•Assist in orientation and support to new staff to the unit.
•Take the lead role in event of any major incident within the practice in the absence of a senior colleague.

Skills & Experience
•Proven post registration experience including evidence of working in any of these following clinical areas;
Primary Care environments or General Practice
•Experience of working autonomously
•Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
•Evidence of autonomous working and the skills in physical assessment required, diagnosis and treatment by use of portfolio
•Evidence of extended skills eg;
1.cytology / smears
5.vaccinations & immunisations
•Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
•Basic IT skills
•Ability to demonstrate clinical expertise and knowledge of audit
•Demonstrable critical reasoning skills and decision making
•Demonstrable evidence of multi-professional / multi-agency working
•Ability to prioritise patient care
•1st level Registered Nurse with current registration with the UK Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC). Substantial post registration.
•Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
•Post registration qualification in practice nursing or equivalent
