About Mencap
At Mencap we work in partnership with people with a learning disability. We do this by providing high-quality, flexible services that support people, including young adults, to live as independently as possible in their own homes and in the community.

Role Description
We now have opportunities for new Support Workers to join our service in the Rushcliffe area. We have permanent contracts of 20 and 30 hours per week available so if you are looking for part-time work we would love to hear from you. You will be working shifts on a rota basis with shifts spread across the weekdays, weekends and bank holidays. You will need to be flexible as shifts will include mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep in and waking night shifts. The early shift starts at 07:00 am and the latest shift finishes at 10:00 pm. The waking night shifts start at 9.00 pm and finish at 9.30 am.

The people we support need support with daily living skills, personal care, going out into the community, attending social activities, administering medication and attending health appointments. We provide a 24 hour service and so flexibility is key.

This would be a great time to join us as this service is looking to improve and develop activities for the people we support and if you join us you can contribute towards building that foundation. You could potentially help the service grow and improve and have your say in how we can plan and have interactive and fun activities for the people we support. We have a lot of development opportunities and our Service Manager wants to get staff trained, develop their skills and develop their career within Mencap. You will benefit from regular one to one sessions with your manager where you will discuss any training or steps you need to take to help with you in your career.
