Job Description

Job Title: Peripatetic Manager (Nurse qualified)
Location: North West Yorkshire
Salary: £42,000 + £3,600 Car allowance

Job purpose - To take responsibility as Peripatetic Manager to support the Registered/ Home Managers across the region in all aspects in the day-to-day running of our clients homes.
Promoting a caring environment which provides residents with a high standard of specialised personal care, ensuring that we are meeting individual needs and ensuring everyone is treated with respect and dignity and rights to privacy, independence and choice are met.

•To be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

•To oversee Quality Assurance within the Homes.

•To support the Manager to manage the day-to-day running of all aspects of the home including; the standards and quality of care, recruitment and training issues, communication with the team, the premises of Care Home and financial matters.

•To oversee that individuals' needs are being met, and that relevant professional agencies and relatives where needed are informed, in order to formulate personalised care plans for each individual.

•To oversee that we are providing the highest level of personal care and attention to residents following individual care plans carefully and ensuring all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive.

•Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements relevant throughout the homes, including HACCP, COSHH, Health and Safety, all aspects of the Care Standards Act to maintain a safe environment throughout the home.

•To support the Manager to monitor the effective running of the home ensuring all legislation and regulations concerning environmental health, infection control, building control, planning and health and safety are met and all risk assessments are regularly carried out (including fire checks) to meet the high standards expected in the Care Homes.

•To oversee that all legal and statutory records, displayed records concerning the home; insurance certificates, registration documents.

•To oversee records of complaints, Resident User Guide and Statement of Purpose, financial, employees, training, residents and maintenance

•To oversee the staffing requirements are met, to ensure the recruitment of suitable employees for the team working in the home, To review that effective inductions and CIS standards take place, the training needs for all the team are identified and met.

•To overview residents personal financial arrangements, petty cash and other monies kept in the Homes, maintaining confidentiality of all information, and that any financial transaction is recorded and treated with the utmost honesty.

•To carry out investigation meetings, disciplinary interviews and grievance meetings, in line with Orchards Policy and procedures, compiling a summary of your findings.

Person specification

•Must be a Registered Nurse with a Valid NMC Pin

•Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Manager. (preferably within care of older people)

•Control and management of budgets and accounts

•Knowledge of the principles in sales and marketing

•Skilled in the recruitment, selection and retention of staff

•Committed to a structured approach to training and development of staff

•Understanding of the Care Standards Act and Health & Safety legislation

•Excellent interpersonal skills

•Professional, confident and warm personality

•Have a caring disposition and be Professional, confident and warm personality

•Leadership qualities, enthusiasm along with influencing and motivational skills.

•Reliable and punctual

•Willing and able to provide an out of hours 'on call' service
