The Medicines Management Directorate has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to take on a newly created post and join our friendly aseptic service pharmacy team based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
The aseptic service is a growing and progressive team that manufactures personalised medicines in specialised clean room environments for patients across Cwm Taf UHB and beyond. The items manufactured include chemotherapy, intravenous feeds for adults and premature babies and other intravenous therapies, such as biological agents for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis.
The main duties will involve undertaking general aseptic service duties that include assembling and transfering drugs and consumables into the aseptic service clean rooms following standard operating procedures. Participating in documentation creation on software systems. Conducting cleaning of aseptic rooms and associated equipment following standard dispensary operating procedures. Supporting the stock maintenance service, ensuring that sufficient quantities of drugs and consumables are ordered following standard aseptic service and logistic standard operating procedures. Enter environmental monitoring data into the Quality Assurance System software, Q-Pulse.
You must possess excellent communication and organisational skills in order to provide an efficient and safe pharmacy service for patients and the running of the service in a busy environment.
We are committed to the development of our staff and can offer excellent in house training, where you will be supported and encouraged to further develop your skills in new and diverse roles.
Applicants will ideally have a NVQ level 2 pharmacy services qualification or be in a position to undertake the qualification.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post
