Sketchley School is a specialist school for young people aged 8 to 19 years with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). Pupils may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and a lack of social understanding.

Set within an acre of mature grounds in the heart of Sketchley, the school offers a safe, structured and predictable environment for pupils to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible and make real life choices as they reach adulthood.

We focus on the needs of each individual pupil to create a framework that promotes self-confidence and self-esteem. We aim to raise standards in the education of young people with autism and help them to lead meaningful, fulfilling and happy lives.

Job Advert Role Description

This role will involve:

  • Complete a comprehensive baseline assessment that gives a good overview of the learners needs.
  • Plan and deliver sessions to meet the physics ‘A’ level requirement
  • Programmes are inclusive and learner centred, appropriate to the needs and aspirations of learners and maintained at a high standard of quality.
  • Record progress and achievement.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and self-assessment report process.
  • Complete the requirements of accredited learning, including assessment, portfolio building and contributing to moderation meetings.
  • Working proactively with the specialist additional support team.
  • Ensure that learners support needs are met and their well-being maintained.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and maintain adherence to deadlines to ensure a high quality service for learners.
  • Act as a personal Tutor, contributing to and implementing individual learning plans to ensure that the learners outcomes are achieved.
  • Complete risk assessments and ensuring Health and Safety policies are adhered to and the concept of the safe learner is actively promoted.
  • To ensure that physics sessions are planned and delivered according to plans and specifications
  • Excellent IT skills required and experience in programming desirable
