Are you interested working as an autonomous practioner using your physiotherapy skills to improve an individual’s balance and minimise their risk of falls? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to be part of the community-based Falls Prevention Service provided across Thurrock, Southend, Castlepoint, Rochford, Brentwood, and Basildon. This therapy-led service provides specialist multifactorial assessment and management of those at risk of falls within their own home and exercise classes for strength and balance. Within the team we offer clinical supervision and continued professional development of your clinical skills.

It is essential that the post-holder has
- Relevant clinical qualification to degree level or equivalent
- NHS experience
- Knowledge and skills to assess patients with complex presentations to arrive at clinical diagnosis
- Significant and recent junior rotational experience across a broad range of rotations
- Ability to travel to a variety of sites and carry equipment

The main responsibilities of the post:
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions as an autonomous practitioner using independence of judgement
• Being part of the Falls Prevention Service ensuring that physiotherapy input is integral to the patients overall care plan and patient goal setting alongside other healthcare professionals.
• Provide leadership of junior, support and rehab assistant staff through supervision, training and appraisal
• Ensuring a high quality of service delivery and evidence based treatment
• Improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources and appropriate and timely physiotherapy interventions

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. Successful candidates will be invited to attend an interview to take place on week commencing 14th November 2016.

High Cost Area Supplement – Essex (Basildon, Brentwood and Thurrock localities only)
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £961 to a maximum of £1,665).
