Job Description

Are you a highly skilled Physiotherapist with a special interest in Respiratory Care, particularly Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)?

Do you want to be part of a developing new and innovative community service for patients with respiratory disease?

You would play a pivotal role in the development of respiratory services across the area, supporting and advising primary care physio, nursing, AHPs and medical teams providing expert opinion, advice and education.

The main responsibilities of the post:

To undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients with respiratory disease, particularly chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including those with complex presentation in order to ascertain appropriateness for referral to Pulmonary Rehabilitation

In–Service Training Programme and Staff Appraisal systems are in operation to help you develop your career in the right direction. We actively support Continued Professional Development.

Ability to travel throughout NELFT and surrounding area is integral to the post: there is a car-leasing scheme available.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. If you are successful at interview for this post, you will be required to undertake an assessment for these skills during the pre-employment checks.

Successful candidates will be invited to attend an interview to take place weel commencing November 2016.

High Cost Area Supplement – Essex (Basildon, Brentwood and Thurrock localities only)

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £961 to a maximum of £1,665).
