As one of our Primary Care Clinical Pharmacists (PCCP) in the Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership, NHS Highland you will join an established team responsible for delivering medicines management and clinical pharmacy input to a range of primary care settings. We are developing the roles and responsibilities of pharmacy staff in line with the aspirations of Prescription for Excellence (PfE) so are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our team.
The role involves working with a number of GP practices to optimise quality, evidence-based and cost-effective use of medicines. In line with PfE, the role of the PCCP is developing into a clinical, patient facing role in both clinic and domiciliary settings e.g. care homes. In all settings we are keen to promote pharmacist prescribing.
You will have relevant post-registration experience of pharmacy practice, sound clinical knowledge, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and good IT skills. You will have a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be on the practicing register of the General Pharmaceutical Council. You should have a relevant postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent. Ideally you will be an independent prescriber or be willing to undertake this.
The post will involve travelling to a number of locations across Argyll & Bute so you will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
