Herts Urgent Care (HUC) is seeking an enthusiastic, patient and focused Practice Nurse to work in our friendly practice in Thurrock. The ideal candidate will have experience of working as a Practice Nurse within a Primary Care setting and have qualifications in the management of patients with long term conditions including COPD, asthma, and diabetes as well as smear taking and childhood immunisations.

The role

  • Travel vaccinations
  • Routine immunisations for infant, child and adult
  • Cervical smears and well woman checks
  • Family Planning advice
  • Wound care and suture removal
  • Smoking cessation advice
  • Diabetes, asthma and COPD management
  • Knowledge of QOF

The skills we are looking for

  • NMC registered nurse
  • Chronic Disease & Minor Illness Management
  • Spirometry
  • Wound care including removal of sutures and clips and compression leg ulcer dressings
  • Child Immunisations
  • Cervical Cytology
  • Infection control awareness
  • Relevant experience in a GP Practice
  • Evidence of statutory mandatory training/willingness to attend training
  • Knowledge of CQC regulations
  • Computer literate, ideally with a sound working knowledge of SystmOne
