Life Works is part of the Priory Group and is a small non-acute private residential addiction, eating disorder and behavioural health treatment facility in Old Woking, Surrey.
We are seeking sufficiently self confident and robust individuals to support and aide clients as part of their treatment journey into recovery
You will need a positive, flexible and cooperative attitude and be a team player.
Ideally you will have or be working towards qualifications in counselling, or similar, with a minimum of 2 years continuous recovery if applicable.
You must be highly organised, trustworthy and reliable.
Ideally you will also have an NVQ level 2 or 3 in health or social care. If not there will be an expectation that you complete the Care Certificate, which the organisation will enable you to do.
The role requires you to support around the building as part of the duty staff team working to maintain an orderly and calm atmosphere.
To give support to individual clients as required in the capacity supportive listener.
To attend meals to give general support in maintaining orderly atmosphere. You may be seated with eating disorder clients and, if so, will be trained appropriately in how to do this
To communicate all relevant information about any aspect of clients’ behaviour to the clinical team by recording it in the client management system
Escort clients to evening support groups (AA / NA / similar) and / or therapeutic outing (Saturday pm only)
Supervise / facilitate some evening groups as directed and with appropriate training
Assist with client assignments that are within your knowledge
Monitor clients during exercise
Support catering / nursing staff in managing meal and snack times
Assist with orientation of new clients, including searching bags and belongings, explaining rules and the outline of the program, introduce new client to their buddy
Work under the direction of the duty nurse out of hour
An enhanced DBS for this post will be required.
Most of the shifts are 4.30pm to 10.30pm but there are also some day shifts at weekends.
