Quality Improvement Lead

Job Description

We are now inviting applications for the position of Quality Improvement Lead. This is a part-time position (up to 30 hours per week) and is based at the Horton NHS Treatment Centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire. Reporting to the Matron, the successful candidate will provide support to the Matron in relation to meeting clinical governance requirements, training needs analysis and co-ordination, quality improvements associated with patient feedback and external stakeholders.

Quality Improvement will be the key element to the role across all departments and working within the multi-disciplinary team. Previous experience of audits and governance management is an advantage.

As this is a clinical role, there is also an expectation that the candidate will participate in the provision of care directly to patients for a number of hours per week/month.

Essential Qualifications / Criteria:

  • Clinical registration
  • Demonstrated communication skills of a high level including written and verbal communication, ability to listen and summarise, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead Continuous Improvement processes in a Health Care facility and achieve sound outcomes
  • Sound knowledge of the relevant legislative requirements and governing body reporting responsibilities of hospital/clinical services departments
  • Knowledge and understanding of contemporary clinical risk management strategies that are effective in promoting and ensuring high quality patient care
  • Ability to analyse clinical information and create written reports for various committees and other stakeholders
  • The ability to integrate into existing clinical teams and form positive achieving outcomes
  • Sound computer skills using the MS Office Suite and web-based reporting systems
  • Previous clinical report writing


  • Proven experience working at management level within the health care industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of private and public health sector funding models
