Radiology Nurse Band 5/6 dependent on experience
The Radiology Department at Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust in Chelmsford is looking for hardworking, motivated and proactive nurses to join their established team of Radiology nurses. You will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary Interventional Radiology team, working closely with the Interventional Radiology consultants, radiography and nursing team, assisting with a wide range of specialised radiology procedures and providing high standards of individualised care to our patients.

The case mix is varied and interesting, with the potential for many new service developments, meaning there is always an opportunity to learn new skills and progress your personal development.
A building programme has just commenced in the Radiology Department to install new fluoroscopy/ angiography equipment and redesign of the nursing and recovery area. This is due to open in November 2016. We also have a hybrid Vascular / Interventional Theatre situated within the main theatre complex.
You will be actively involved in the varied work of this dynamic and innovative department. This will be a hands-on nursing role, supporting a wide range of imaging and interventional procedures, including angiography, aortic stent grafting, ERCP, Cryoablation, RFA, Sclerotherapy and other imaging guided procedures (renal / biliary / gastro-intestinal). The role will entail scrubbing to assist in complex procedures, circulating and providing pre-operative, intra-operative and post procedure recovery care.
The Department is committed to supporting staff members in their professional development, and staff are encouraged to pursue training opportunities both within and external to the Trust
Although previous Radiology, theatre or Endoscopy nursing experience would be beneficial, full training will be given to the successful applicant.
Participation in weekend and on call cover will be required.
