Job Description

At Turning Point, we support people with substance misuse issues across the country. As a community based Recovery Nurse within our new Oxfordshire Roads to Recovery Service, you’ll make a real difference to their lives of those experiencing difficulties from drugs and alcohol usage. Our Oxfordshire Roads to Recovery service is an integrated community drug and alcohol service that offers support to individuals across the county. Our Recovery Hubs are based in Oxford, Banbury, Witney and Didcot, we also deliver services within Shared Care GP Practices throughout Oxfordshire. You will work within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team under the supervision of our Nurse Manager, alongside Doctors, Clinical Psychologists, Recovery Workers, Counsellors and Peer Mentors to improve the well-being of a wide range of service users.

As a Recovery Nurse, you will be joining our Nursing Team providing health care assessments, administering detoxification medication for clients, completing alcohol and opiate detoxification assessments, providing Blood Borne Virus treatment interventions and will work closely with mental health, physical health and social care services. You’ll also help to create a collaborative approach that links Turning Point ever closer to outside professionals and agencies.

You may have experience of the substance misuse sector, be an NMP Prescriber or may have transferable Nursing Skills and looking for a change. We have a Relocation Allowance for the right candidates, training packages to gain your NMP Certificate and excellent career progression opportunities.

An excellent communicator, you’ll have the ability to develop support packages that are creative, flexible and tailored to the needs of individual service users. And of course, we’re looking for a Recovery Nurse who loves talking to people with different needs, is genuinely interested in helping them, and possesses a deep level of empathy, understanding and patience.
