The Acute Medical Unit (AMU) is a 60 bedded ward combining 12 Assessment beds, an Ambulatory Care Area and 48 short stay beds, receiving patients directly from A&E or from their GPs with acute medical conditions. They are usually with us for a short period of time whilst their acute condition is being diagnosed, stabilised, monitored and treated.
With the expansion of our nursing team we are delighted to announce we are currently recruiting band 5 registered nurses. For newly qualified nurses we offer a full preceptorship programme and for experienced nurses we offer a variety of courses to support your continuous professional development such as Mentorship, Intermediate and Advanced Life Support training opportunities.
Working within AMU is a very rewarding challenge as you have the opportunity to develop acute medical skills, inter-professional learning and handle emergency situations within a controlled and supportive setting.
