This is an exciting opportunity to join the secondary mental health Psychology & Psychotherapy Service for Older People as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist. We have one post available in one of our branches covering Lambeth and Southwark.
The post holders will be based alongside the CMHTs for older adults and will have a varied role offering psychological interventions to older adults and their families and carers, consultancy, and, as we are part of a Clinical Academic Group, contributing to teaching and research. The service offers CBT, psychodynamic and systemic therapy as well as undertaking neuropsychological assessments and working with behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia. Research is undertaken linked to each arm of the service.
The small Psychology & Psychotherapy Service teams are friendly and highly skilled and provide a supportive environment in which to work. Psychology & Psychotherapy colleagues also work in other specialist community and inpatient services which refer into the Psychology & Psychotherapy Service.
We are looking for enthusiastic psychologists with an interest in, and experience of, working with older adults who are aware of the importance of close working relationship with MDT colleagues. You will be expected to work autonomously, directly and indirectly, with older adults and their families and carers to provide a range of high quality, evidence-based collaborative assessments and interventions. We are looking for psychologists that can offer a dynamic and creative approach to service delivery. You will have regular individual supervision from a senior link psychologist in your branch as well as group supervision according to your clinical skills and interests.
